AST AFRICA TRADING 151 CC was founded on January 13th 2001. Despite our relatively short history AST Africa Trading 151 cc boasts a wealth of expertise and experience brought to the close corporation by its’ members.

Mr CFJ Renniers began his career in the steel industry in 1988 with steel giants, Steel World Corporation. His superlative trading skills and understanding of the steel manufacturing process soon saw his advance to upper management in an extremely short space in time. Ambition and his hunger to increase his knowledge lead him on a path to be a true force in the steel fabrication industry. Boasting a Directorship position at Vantage Steel Merchants as well the mild steel merchanting, fabrication and service centre Division Controller at SPF Trading his talents are rarely surpassed by personnel in the steel industry.

Mr GB van Heerden bears his roots in the machining and engineering field having previously been a member of the Flange manufacturing company Steel Plate Flanges for 11 years. Being bought out by the well-acclaimed Robor Industrial Holdings Group, he has continued his successful entrepreneurship in the engineering and flange industry.

He spent a further 5 years as a member of SPF Trading cc as the principal buyer establishing solid relations with corporations such as Iscor Steel And Van Leeuwen Pipe and Tube to mention but a few.

Mr VHJ Velosa has his background in the design and construction industry having spent a number of years in the study of Architecture. Being employed as a principle buyer and internal sales manager for Vantage Steel, this enabled him to establish links and an understanding of the steel industry since 1994.

Taking opportunity and utilizing newfound knowledge of the steel industry he entered into a joint partnership with Mr CFJ Renniers in heading up the merchanting, fabrication and steel service centre at SPF Trading.

Being awarded the responsibility of controlling the financial aspects of the division he began to study, on a part-time basis, the intricacies of commerce. He completed his commerce degree at Unisa in 2006.  

These three gentlemen in turn decided to establish AST Africa Trading 151 cc. Their dedication, honesty, attention to detail and unsurpassed service has blessed them with deserved success.
